SALMON ARM FAIR

September 10, 2021 - September 12, 2021

The Salmon Arm and Shuswap Lake Agricultural Association regretfully reports, due to the Pandemic situation, the 2020 Salmon Arm Fair, Sept 11, 12 and 13, 2020 is cancelled.
This decision was made tonight at the monthly Board meeting where Board Members and Staff gave due deliberation to months of collaboration, consultation, and networking with peers from other BC Fairs, Festivals, governance organizations: BC Fairs, CAFE (Canadian Associations of Agricultural Fairs and Exhibitions), key partners West Coast Amusements, and other arms-length organizations Arts BC and SORP (Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals). We also heard from public members and Volunteers who gave us support in coming to the best decision, with safety as the top priority.
We thank all those who have showed us unfailing support in the last couple of months, while we maneuvered this new landscape – trusting in us to make the right decision. We thank all our new and long standing Sponsors, Conveners, Volunteers and Support Staff, who kept working and connecting with us until an informed decision could be made. We can now put all those efforts towards next year’s Fair Sept 10, 11 and 12, 2021.
We will be holding a special day at next year’s Fair to honour our Health Care workers who kept us safe and our essential service workers who also risked their own health to look after all of us!
The ‘New Normal’ will not be forgotten as we will now instill new safety measures in the 2021 Fair Operations Plan. We will have ‘More to See’ when we are able to share it with you next year; an even bigger renewal to celebrate!
Thank you and please keep connecting with us on Facebook and our new Website, where we will be rolling out the 2021 Fair plans. We look forward to getting to know you better by offering you many ways to be involved next year!
